"The actual connections are never those which you think of."
S.R. Crockett's words serve as the guiding principle of this online museum. We believe that the most interesting discoveries lie in the unexpected relationships between things. Here, you'll find not just a collection of Crockett's works, but curation of the connections that bring his world to life. Explore his writings, letters, and related materials to discover the surprising links that bind them together which weave an intricate tapestry of connections that shaped his life.
By delving into the fascinating relationships between Crockett's personal experiences, prolific literary output and the people, places and events that influenced him we hope to illuminate and contextualise the rich world of his writing.
As a constantly growing resource the museum will continue to expand the collection, exploring new connections and offering fresh insights into the capitvating world of S.R.Crockett.
The museum draws upon the combined research collections of three leading Crockett scholars: Dr Islay Murray Donaldson, Richard D. Jackson and Cally Phillips, now housed in The Galloway Raiders Archive, bringing together a wealth of published and unpublished materials.
